Fun activities all year round Whatever the conditions we have programs to make the most of our beautiful environment. Surrounded by the stunning adventure playground of Tongariro National Park, BMAC can be a place for reflection, learning, and of course, fun! With many years of combined experience in outdoor leadership and instruction, our team are one of the many reasons people come back year after year. Our staff are trained in outdoor safety management and our centre maintains excellence in safety procedures. Once we discovered this amazing place, we have never considered looking anywhere else.
My girls have attended several camps at BMAC and are eager to get to more! We meet benchmark safety standards and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality. All our instructors are qualified, have proven experience in outdoor pursuits, hold a current outdoor first aid certificate, driver’s license, and are trained in risk and crisis management. NZOIA awards in rockclimbing, abseiling, kayaking, mountaineering and bushcraft NZRA raft guiding qualifications Project Adventure facilitation qualifications a variety of NZQA outdoor recreation standards.
Ken comes with a wide range of work experience from managing his own Logging business, developing and managing a horticulture business, outdoor instructing at Hillary Outdoors, Pastoring a small church, teaching and forestry training. Taking 11 years out, to be a stay at home Mum to her four busy kids, has been a joy and a test of her organizational skills and patience! Having lived in the area over 10 years she has a lot of local knowledge and a great insight into the local community. Dans passion for the outdoors began on his mountain bike at age 13 when he was making jumps in his backyard. Dan loves working with people in the outdoor environment and seeing them gain confidence in their own God given abilities.
Having trained and worked in several countries, Claire brings more than 20 years experience in the outdoors to BMAC. As well as her Outdoor experiences, Claire is a trained counsellor and adventure therapist, combining these skill sets to bring about the best outcomes for those she works with. She joined the BMAC team in May 2016 and is growing a cult following for her baby shark dance. Once we discovered this amazing place, we have never considered looking anywhere else.
To manage the risks inherent in what we do, BMAC has an extensive safety management system which includes . comprehensive policies on all aspects of our operation including staff, equipment, activities and safety procedures. Although there is always a level of risk in any outdoor activity, our goal is to provide the safest experience possible, in a supportive and fun environment. Through adventures in the awesome outdoors, people of all ages can gain new skills, build confidence, and see the world in a new way
